Turkish Grand Prix Betting

Forumla One returns to our screens this Sunday after a three week absence. This time the drivers will be locking horns in Turkey at the Istanbul Racing Circuit. The Turkish Grand Prix is a great circuit for overtaking so expect lots of action throughout the 58 laps. Last year’s race was a dramatic affair that will best be remembered for the moment the two Red Bull drivers crashed into each other, handing a one-two to McLaren. The incident highlighted the heated relationship between Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber and sparked off a series of heated exchanges between the pair.

A few weeks ago at the China Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton broke Vettel’s 2011 winning streak with a fine win, and as the winner here in Turkey last year, Hamilton has got every chance of repeating that success and is priced at 3/1 to finish first on Sunday. Although, who would back against Vettel to return in style, with the bookies William Hill offering odds of  9/2 for the German  to get pole position, fastest lap and win the race.

Mark Webber looked to be back to his best in China, finishing in a creditable third place despite starting way back in 18th on the grid. The Australian has been completely overshadowed by his Red Bull counterpart this season, but will be more than determined to spring an upset here, especially after what happened last year, and has odds of 5/1 to do so. Felipe Massa should not be overlooked considering he won three times in a row in Turkey between 2006-2008. The Brazilian will be the first to admit that he is not yet peaking this season, but at 25/1 to win he is definitely worth a punt.

Jenson Button is currently third in the F1 standings, despite only finishing in the top three once so fat in 2011. The Brit will be hungry for a win, which would see him close the gap between himself Hamilton and Vettel, and is available at 15/2 to race home in first. Nick Heidfeld and Vitaly Petrov have both made podium finishes this season and the drivers are available at 9/1 and 12/1 respectively to finish in the top three in Turkey.
