A song that was first released 46 years ago could be about to ruin Simon Cowell’s Christmas and beat whoever wins X Factor 2010 to the number one spot in the Christmas singles chart. The song is called “Surfin Bird” by a band called the Trashmen was originally a hit single in America in 1964, but it was recently played in episode of the hit adult cartoon show “Family Guy” and since the it has been viewed millions of times on YouTube.
It is also featured in a campaign on social networking site Facebook to make the song number 1 that has over half a million fans. A similar campaign last year made the rock group Rage Against the Machine’ song “Killing in the Name of” the 2009 Christmas number one single.
Not only could he lost out on his act getting to number one but the odds for the Brazilian horror, Wagner to win X Factor 2010 have been slashed from 22/1 to just 7/1 just behind that of his boy band One Direction who are at odds of 9/4.
