Boylesports offering to refund stakes if your horse is placed second during the Cheltenham Festival
The bookmakers Boylesports have launched a promotion on the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.
They are offering to refund bets if the horse you back is placed second during the first four races namely the Supreme Novices Hurdle, Arkle Challenge Trophy, Festival Handicap Chase and the Champion Hurdle.
In last years festival Get Me Out Of Here finished as runner up in the Supreme Novices at odds of 9/2, Somersby was second in the Arkle at odds of 4/1, in the Festival Handicap the 9/2 favourite the Package was pipped to the post and in the Champion Hurdle and Kyhber Kim at odds of 7/1 was second to Binocular. If there are similar results this year in the opening day of the four day festival the Boylesports could be looking to refund in excess of £1 million back to its customers on what is one of busiest horse racing days in the racing calendar.
The offer as always comes with some of the usual terms and conditions and has a maximum refund of £250 per customer; it only applies to the win part of singles and each way bets and not to singles as part of a multiple bet and bets must be placed before the start of the Champion Hurdle.

Germany the favourites to win the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest
The 2011 Eurovision Song Contest begins on May 14th from the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf and it will be the 56th time that the event has been run.
Earlier this month it was revealed that United Kingdoms entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest will be performed by the boy band Blue which has seen the United Kingdom placed 7th in the betting odds for the competition with odds of 16/1. Irelands entry will be supplied by X Factor rejects Jedward who will be performing their song “Lipstick” which sees the boys at odds of 12/1. The favourite however is currently the host nation Germany whose song “Taken by a stranger” is performed by Lena Mayer-Landrut who was the winner of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and was the second favourite to win that competition.
As one of the funders of the event the United Kingdom are given an automatic entry to the finals along with France, Germany Italy and Spain. Ireland’s entry Jedward however will have to go through the semi finals to qualify and are at odds of 8/11 to make the Eurovision 2011 Final.
Odds for this market come courtesy of bookmakers Paddy Power.

Racing Post Chase Betting the pick of the weekend’s action
The Grade 3 Racing Post Chase is the big betting race of the weekend which takes place at Kempton Park on Saturday afternoon and is supported by three cracking Grade 2 races that are all trials for the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival. Here’s a look at the feature races and hopefully a few pointers in the direction of finding a couple of winners…
1.55 Kempton Park – Adonis Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2)
Plenty of talented juveniles have been entered for this opener with the Triumph Hurdle being the target for at least some of those on show. Nicky Henderson won this race last year with Soldatino which of course went on to take the ‘Triumph’ at the Festival and the brilliant trainer might well try something similar this year with Celtus, who will be having his first run in this country since arriving from France.
Henderson is clearly impressed by this horse which is likely to start as the favourite but he will also be represented by Molotof, another Juvenile to have arrived at Seven Barrows from France.
Tim Vaughan who is rapidly making a big name for himself in the National Hunt has a very smart pair of runners in the unbeaten First Fandango and Architrave who won his first three starts in great style but appeared to be out of his depth when well beaten last time in the Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham back in November in a race won by Sam Winner.
Please note that both of these runners as well as several others have also got entries for the Dovecote Novices Hurdle later in the afternoon.
Selection: Celtus
2.25 Kempton Park – Pendil Novice Chase (Grade2)
Most eyes will be on the performance of the Phillip Hobbs, Captain Chris, who is 14/1 with paddy power the Arkle at Cheltenham and looks to have the right credentials to win this Grade 2. The seven year old has finished second in each of his four races so far this season, but showed on his last run that he has plenty left at the end and if amongst them at the last then he will be hard to beat. He also looks a very promising bet for the Arkle trophy Chase which takes place on the first day at the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival.
He will be up against, amongst others the talented five year old, Royal Charm who will be stepping up in class after two very encouraging wins over fences this season.
Selection: Captain Chris
3.00 Kempton Park – Racing Post Chase (Grade 3)
This looks a very difficult race to call with any number in with chances. Fistral Beach from the Paul Nicholls yard will likely go off as the favourite but there are plenty of doubts about his jumping ability so he is best left alone on this occasion.
Alan King has been quite bullish about the chances of his Bakbenscher and there is plenty of support around for the Phillip Hobbs trained Quinz who is one of two entries for this race from Hobbs who has saddled three winners of this renewal in the last few years.
Last year’s winner Razor Royale will be looking for back to back wins, but will need to show better form than he has so far this season. The 9 year old is one of the entries from the yard of Nigel Twiston-Davies, the other being recent Wetherby winner, Crescent Island who will be having only his second race after a lay-off of almost two years. It is interesting to note that Paddy Brennan, the Twiston-Davies stable jockey has elected to ride last year’s runner up and 2009 winner, Nacarat who will carry top weight.
Selection: Bakbenscher @ 9/1 with Victor Chandler

Stan James offering odds on the China Open Qualifiers
The qualifiers take place from 24th – 27th February ahead of the full tournament which begins on March 28th. The event is hosted at the Beijing University Students Gymnasium in Beijing, China. It is the last ranking event before the World Championship and was won in 2010 by Welshman Mark Williams who beat Ding Junhui 10-6. The only year it was won by a Chinese player was in 2005 when Ding Junhui beat Stephen Hendry 9-5.
The bookmakers Stan James are one of the only bookmakers (if that the only major bookie that is doing so) that are currently offering odds on the China Open Qualifiers. A spokesperson for the bookmakers said that as these qualifiers are featuring some of the future stars of snooker that punters should be given the opportunity to bet on these rising stars before they become household names.
All games take place on February 24th, click on the odds to bet.

Arsenal favourites to lift the Carling Cup this season
Arsenal make their first trip to Wembley this season as they face Birmingham City in the final of the Carling Cup. Both teams are also in with a chance of a return to Wembley later in the year as they are both still featuring in the FA Cup. Arsenal are the clear favourite out of the two teams to win the fixture at odds of 2/9 to lift the Carling Cup Trophy. Should you fancy Arsenal to go on and do the double and win the Premier League they are currently at odds of 11/4 but if you think that is too much buy that they can lift both trophies this season (FA Cup and Carling Cup) they are odds of 5/1.
Last season Birmingham only managed to get to the third round of the tournament before they were defeated 2-0 by Sunderland and Arsenal reached the fifth round before they were knocked out by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
All odds for this market come courtesy of internet bookmakers Paddypower.
The bookmakers Paddy Power are offering punters a money back special on this game if Arsenal are leading the game at any time (during normal 90 minutes) but fails to win the game then they will refund all of the losing first and last goal scorer bets as well as the correct score and scorecast singles made on the match.

Who is next to be booted off Dancing on Ice?
After coming in the bottom two in the show last week TV presenter (and father of Jade Goody’s children) Jeff Brazier is the bookies favourite to be booted out of the series this weekend. Jeff along with Kerry Katona was part of the dance off but all three judges backed Jeff to stay over Kerry. This is the second time that Jeff has managed to avoid being booted off the show from being in the bottom two, last time was in week 2 when Hampshire and former England cricketer Dominic Cork was chosen over him.
In the show Laura was once again the top skater of the competition for the second time since she got past the elimination rounds and is at odds of 15/8 to win Dancing on Ice 2011. If she can be named the best skater this coming week she will equal that of current favourite to win the show Sam Attwater who is currently at odds of 4/7 to win.

Cold weather claims another race meeting
As January comes to a close once again the cold weather that seems to be blighting sporting events this year has claimed yet another victim as Ludlow Racecoruse has called of all racing today. We do still have meetings going ahead at Ayr and on the all weather course at Wolverhampton.
However with the sun now beginning to shine and create a little bit of warmth punters betting at Ayr will be hopefully warmed up even more by Paddy Powers cash back offer on the 4:00pm race today. If you back a horse that is winning this race at the final hurdle but then fails to win the race for you then you will have your single stake bet money refunded back into your account. The favourite for this race is Super Ally ridden by Brian Harding at odds of 5/1.

Sam Attwater is still the favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2011
The next celebrity is set to be booted off Dancing on Ice this coming weekend. We have already seen the first 4 contestants removed in what was billed as a quarter final phase to gain entry in the main event.
The first celebrity to be shown the door on the show in the proper format this season was former Coronation Street actor Steven Arnold after losing the dance off to England cricketer Dominic Cork. Cork is the favourtite celebrity to be eliminated on the next show on 30th January with odds of 9/4. In close to contention to follow him out of the door is Dave Vity (best known as comedy Dave from the Chris Moyles radio show) who is at odds of 7/2 and Denise Welch (another Corrie star) who is showing at odds of 9/2.
The favourite to win the show is still former Eastenders actor Sam Attwater who has been leading the Dancing on Ice Betting since the show started. One celebrity who is keen to win and improve the publics view of her persona following a very rough roasting she has had in the press is Kerry Katona. Katona was once the winner of I’m A Celebrity, the face of Iceland and a Celebrity Parent of the Year winner but recent stories in the press about her drug taking and personal life have not helped her cause.

Is the Eurovision Song Contest ready for Blue and Jedward?
Please contain your excitement, the boy-band Blue have confirmed that they will be entering the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. The group have been chosen by the BBC to be the country’s official entry, they will be performing the song “I Can” which has been written by the group. The band formed in 2001 and had several top ten hits before splitting up in 2005, will Take That like mania happen for the band? Answers on a postcard.
The 56th Eurovision Song Contest takes place on May 14th from the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf in Germany and the band are no strangers to the competition. Singer Lee Ryan wrote the song “Guardian Angel” that was sung by Andy Scott-Lee in the 2005 qualification rounds, Blue member Antony Costa came 2nd in the same show the following year and Duncan James was one of the judges in the 2009 show Eurovision: Your Country Needs You as well as being the announcer for the UK votes in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest final.
Place a bet on the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with William Hill
England in the last few years have not done terribly well in the contest coming last in the 2010 contest, 5th in 2009 and last in 2008 and who can forget the performance in 2001 when the band Jemini came last with the dreaded score of “nil points”. Hopefully Blue will be able to do a little better but with Ireland sending in the Jedward boys the competition is going to be tough!
The bookmakers William Hill think that England may again come last and are offering customers odd of 5/1 for that to happen, for nil points to happen the odds are 16/1 but for a win the odds are a long shot at 25/1.
Jemini show how not to do it with this cringeworthy performance at the 2003 contest.

Will smashing Richard Keys be fronting sports on Arabic TV?
Following on from our story earlier this week on where Andy Gray would be heading next there has been new information received that the either Keys or the pair of presenters could be reunited on Arabic TV as the faces of sports for the Al Jazeera television. The station that broadcasts across the Arab World and western world via Satellite from Qatar currently broadcasts 8 sports channels. Al Jazeera is known for attracting some of the cream of British television presenters having employed the services of Sir David Frost, Hamish Macdonald and Rageh Omaar.
Once all the fuss has blown over concerning the remarks that Keys and Gray made concerning the ability of Sian Massey to know the offside rule and the further remarks featured in a leaded Sky Sports video shown on YouTube concerning whether Jamie Redknapp had “smashed it”

A great betting offer on midweek Premier League matches from Boylesports
The online bookies Boylesports are running a hard to beat cash back offer today that is available on any of the midweek Premier League fixtures. The offer is that if any teams comes back from behind and wins they will refund losing bets that have been made on any of the following markets; first, last, anytime goal scorer, score 2 ore more, hat trick and scorecast bets.
The race to win the Premier League has now really heated up following the late night transfers that happened last night that saw Andy Carroll switch from Newcastle United to Liverpool for a record UK transfer fee of £35m only for that record to be broken later as Chelsea paid £50 million to get their hands on Liverpool’s Fernando Torres. The amount of money being spent last night (over £200 million in all) has shown how series some teams are to compete in the Premier League, the new signings are however unlikely to appear in these midweek fixtures.
The current league leaders Manchester United are still the favourites to win this seasons title at odds of 8/13 but Chelsea are now at odds of 15/2, will their investment in Torres pay off this season?
The following matches all qualify for the offer from Boylesports

Where next for Andy Gray?
Following the sexist comments made by Sky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys Sky Sports have sensationally sacked Gray as one of their presenters whilst Richard Keys has resigned his position as he has stated that “Going forward without Andy would have been almost impossible”. It may become quite sad now to watch the live football on Sky without Keys and Gray with his magic pen. There is even speculation that Electronic Arts may have to remove the commentary from the their next FIFA Football Game that is due out in November.
There is even some speculation (that was hinted at in a Richard Keys radio interview) that the real reason behind Grays sacking was that he was taking on the News of The World for allegedly hacking his and other celebrities mobile phone accounts and that as Sky and the News of the World are ran by the same company that it was inevitable that something would happen to his career.
The pair of presenters have been the face of Sky Sports since the television company began their football coverage of the top flight matches back in 1992 and there already Facebook campaigns in action to demand that they return to Sky. Gray and Keys will not be out of the game for long and are sure to turn up presenting somewhere soon.

England a good bet to win the RBS 6 Nations opening match
The much hyped RBS 6 Nations tournament begins on the 4th February with the first match being Wales taking on England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. England are the favourites to win this fixture but they have not won at the in the Six Nations since 2004.
Both sides have had an onset of injury worries with England being without regular team captain Lewis Moody who is likely to be replaced by centre Mike Tindall. Moody is expected to miss out on the first three games of England’s campaign after the injury he sustained during baths win over Aironi in the Heineken Cup. Wales will be without Leigh Halfpenny after the player sustained an ankle injury during training which will be sure to be a big blow to Wales he is also expected to be out for the clash against Scotland. They are also without George North and Gethin Jenkins.
The full squads for both sides will be announced later today.
